Information Security Program to Add Additional Protection Against Theft/Fraud
May 18, 2005 - In its efforts to continually implement the most advanced technology into securing confidential customer information, Four Corners Abstract announces the implementation of its Information Security Program.
The program, to be headed by information security officers at FCA, Kourtney Gagliano and John Villani, will provide additional protection for FCA clients against any possible in-house, or Internet identity theft and/or fraud.
Governed by state and federal regulations, in compliance with Title X of the Graham-Leach-Bliley Act and NJAC 11:1-44 et seq. (standards for safeguarding customer information), the new program will involve a series of procedures for FCA employees and sub-contractors to adhere to whenever they come in contact with confidential client information.
"The program will involve new steps to ensure that our clients' non-public records, such as social security and bank account numbers, will be kept confidential at all times and not readily available, even within Four Corners Abstract's offices," commented Gagliano. "We've always prided ourselves on the efforts we take to keep records confidential, and now that new technology has been made available to assist with this, we are taking full advantage."
The company will utilize a Docstar scanning and archiving system that will scan all confidential documents so that paper records are eliminated, and provide limited access to these scanned files. Also, for extra protection for FCA clients who utilize the company's website to manage their documents, FCA has purchased a SSL certificate from VeriSign, the leader in SSL encryption.

New FCA Website Continues to Offer Customized Client
Web Pages
September 24, 2004 - The launch of Four Corners
Abstract's new website, www.fourcornersabstract.com,
introduces an updated look, unveiling the company's new
logo and providing its customers with more information and
greater usability.
The site continues to offer clients their own customized
web page, allowing individuals the ability to place orders
instantly, search for documents, view status reports and
more. Once orders are placed, an e-mail is sent instantly
to Four Corners Abstract's customer service department and
are typically processed within 24 hours.
"Ease of use and timely service is critical in our
business," commented president William Gagliano. "Our
online options allow our clients to view and track all of
their orders, and when an order is complete the document
is posted to the client's customized site for immediate
viewing. This also saves time and money by posting documents
electronically versus mailing documents back and forth."
Other features of the site include the ability for clients
to search past orders by reference number, FCA file number,
last name, etc. Status reports will also provide clients
with the opportunity to view exactly which stage their order
is in and an estimated date of completion.
Staying Abreast of New Federal Regulations at FCA
August 25, 2004 - Four Corners Abstract consistently
keeps up with new regulations placed on the banking, insurance
and real estate industries that require every transaction
to be analyzed for possible terrorist involvement.
The latest such regulation involves the scanning of every
name involved in any transaction against a list put out
by the United States Department of Treasury called Specially
Designated Nationals or SDN.
FCA repeatedly scans every transaction for matches on the
current SDN list. This also means that existing transactions
are checked repeatedly, every time a new updated list is
issued, as real estate transactions often take months to
complete.
Should a match be found specific management personnel at
FCA are alerted to deal with the situation.
By staying on top of the latest federal regulations required
for the real estate industry, FCA customers can rest assure
that all of their transactions are indeed legitimate and
safe.
FCA Expands Service Offerings in Maryland
August 2, 2004 - Four Corners Abstract is proud
to announce that our company is now licensed as a producer
of title insurance in the State of Maryland.
Previously the firm had to refer title work to another
licensed agent in Maryland in order to collect premiums
for settlement closings.
"We're also excited to report that Four Corners Abstract's
Bill Garrison has passed the licensing exam and has obtained
an individual producer license in the state of Maryland,"
commented president William Gagliano.
FCA will write the title policies through Old Republic
National Title in Maryland. The firm currently also holds
title producer licenses in Florida and New Jersey.
